Summary
Join Vital Farms as a Senior Financial Reporting Analyst and play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of external financial reporting, including SEC filings and compliance with audits. Collaborate with various teams, including Accounting, FP&A, Legal, and Investor Relations, to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. Prepare and support quarterly and annual SEC filings, collaborate with external auditors, monitor and assess new accounting standards, assist in preparing internal reporting packages, and partner with other teams to ensure consistent messaging. Participate in developing and maintaining internal controls and drive process improvements. Assist with special projects related to corporate development initiatives. Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA strongly preferred
- 4+ years of relevant experience, ideally including public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and/or public company SEC reporting
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls (SOX)
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to travel 10-15% for team meetings, company conferences, and onboarding events
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for translating complex information into clear, business-friendly language

Responsibilities
- Prepare and support the quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-Ks, Proxy Statements), including detailed footnote disclosures and MD&A sections
- Collaborate with external auditors to support the annual audit and quarterly reviews, including preparing audit deliverables and addressing audit requests
- Monitor, assess, and document the impact of new or revised accounting standards and SEC regulations; draft technical accounting memos and formalize accounting policy determinations as needed
- Assist in preparation of internal reporting packages for executive leadership and the Board of Directors
- Partner with Legal, Investor Relations, and Accounting to ensure consistency and accuracy in messaging and disclosures
- Participate in the development and maintenance of internal controls related to financial reporting (SOX compliance)
- Assist with internal and external audit compliance
- Drive process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the reporting process
- Assist in special projects related to corporate development initiatives as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Excel skills; experience with Workiva, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms a plus
