Summary
Join Oportun's finance team as a Senior Accountant specializing in SEC Reporting. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and ensuring compliance of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, earnings materials) with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, maintain accurate documentation, and monitor changes in accounting standards and regulations. The ideal candidate possesses strong accounting experience, preferably with Big Four public accounting experience, and holds a CPA or equivalent certification. Requirements
- A minimum of two years of general accounting experience
- Four-year bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.)
- Ability to meet strict deadlines

Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation, tie out, and review SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and earnings materials, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal policies
- Assist in drafting and reviewing footnotes, MD&A, and other sections of financial statements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, investor relations, and external auditors, to gather and validate financial data
- Maintain accurate supporting documentation and schedules for all disclosures
- Monitor and analyze changes in accounting standards and SEC regulations, assessing their impact on financial reporting
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of quarterly earnings releases and related supporting materials
Preferred Qualifications
