Summary

Join Offchain Labs' Accounting team as a Senior Accounting and Payroll Specialist, responsible for accounts payable, end-to-end payroll processing for US and international employees, benefits administration, and financial perks. You will ensure seamless, timely, and compliant payroll processing, working closely with PEO providers and HR. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and cross-functional collaboration. Experience with international payroll and multi-country compliance is essential. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in payroll processing, preferably including international payroll and working with PEOs (e.g., Deel, Remote, Papaya, etc.)
  • Familiarity with multi-country compliance requirements and payroll systems
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits administration and how it connects to payroll
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset
  • Comfort working cross-functionally, especially with HR
  • 3+ years in an accounting role with exposure to A/P and A/R
  • Knows how to use Quickbooks Online
  • Month end general ledger close experience

Responsibilities

  • Process invoices, payments with accuracy and efficiency
  • Maintain vendor records
  • Ensure 1099s are are distributed to all required vendors
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain proper general ledger balances
  • Process and apply incoming payments to appropriate accounts
  • Communicate with internal teams to resolve any outstanding payment issues
  • Ensure timely collections and proper escalation of aged accounts
  • Maintain contracts for proper billing to clients
  • Assist Accounting Manager with booking any month end close entries
  • Maintain reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
  • Manage bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles for U.S. and international employees using our PEO providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local laws and internal policies and that all submissions, approvals, and funding are on time
  • Partner with HR to incorporate new hires, terminations, compensation changes, and one-time payments into payroll runs
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions related to payroll, pay statements, or payroll-related tax items, and coordinate with the appropriate PEO or internal team to resolve issues promptly
  • Own payroll audit processes and maintain clean, organized payroll records
  • Ensure that employee reimbursements (e.g., out-of-pocket expenses, stipends) are accurately submitted and paid out with payroll in alignment with our policies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on annual processes such as benefits renewals, payroll tax filings, and total rewards audits
  • Support the administration of U.S. and international employee benefits, including enrollments, renewals, and monthly reconciliations
  • Help manage financial perks and stipends (e.g., wellness stipends, learning budgets), ensuring accurate processing and alignment with company policy

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a fast-paced startup or global remote environment is a plus
