As a Senior AI/ML Development Engineer, you will lead the design and development of AI/ML models, focusing on NLP for document generation and compliance. You will collaborate with data engineers, conduct model testing and optimization, and document processes. This remote position, based in San Diego or DC, requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 8+ years of AI/ML development experience with a strong NLP focus, and proficiency in relevant frameworks and languages. A US DoD Secret-level Security Clearance is required or eligibility to obtain one. Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field (masterโ€™s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in AI/ML development, with a strong focus on NLP
  • Proficiency in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • Hands-on experience with FedRAMP-compliant cloud environments
  • Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages
  • Candidates must possess, or be eligible to receive, US DoD Secret-level Security Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of AI/ML models tailored for acquisition workflows
  • Develop and refine Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to support document generation and ensure compliance
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers to design and implement robust, scalable data pipelines
  • Conduct advanced testing and optimization of AI models to achieve high performance and reliability
  • Document processes, methodologies, and outcomes to ensure alignment with project goals and client requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to bridge technical and operational goals
  • Experience deploying AI solutions for large-scale datasets
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights for stakeholders
  • Experience with DoD ship and aircraft maintenance, shipyard maintenance
  • Navy logistics/supply experience with knowledge of MILSTRIP, MILSTRAP, DLMS, LOG-IT portfolio
  • Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) logistics environment and Accountable Property Systems of Record (APSRs)
  • Experience with Department of Navy (DON) and Navy processes and policies
