Senior Application Engineer

Summary

Join the Smart Wires Application Engineering team as a primary product expert, educating customers on products and solutions, and facilitating project execution.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
• Minimum 5 years of related industry experience; preferably supporting the design, testing deployment and/or management of transmission assets
• Excellent technical written communication and verbal presentation skills in English
• Ability to work collaboratively in global teams
• Ability to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary product expert throughout the sales process and project delivery process
• Review and approve updated product documentation (e.g. spec sheets, manuals and application guides)
• Conduct site-specific studies for different applications of Smart Wires’ products and solutions
• Develop, review and approve technical reports to support the product development, sales and deployment processes
• Participate in cross-functional teams to support the new product introduction process
• Represent Smart Wires’ products in industry and academic working groups

Preferred Qualifications

• History working for a utility, power-system consultant or power-system equipment vendor with experience that overlaps with the responsibilities of this position
• Experience with one or more of the following: FACTS or HVDC, Power electronics, SCADA, EMS, Power-system protection and control, HV substation design, IEEE and/or IEC standards for high-voltage equipment
• Knowledge of power systems maintenance and operation
• Experience applying ML to internal processes
