Summary
Join Canva's creative team as a Senior Art Director and help redefine how the world experiences design. This 5-month, full-time contract offers remote work flexibility. You will be responsible for elevating Canva's global brand campaigns, inspiring the creative team, and designing creative solutions. The role requires collaboration with various teams and stakeholders, utilizing data-driven insights to meet customer needs. You will also develop craft initiatives for team growth. This position is ideal for a Senior Art Director with proven agency and client-side experience in delivering global campaigns.
Requirements
- You have proven agency and/or client-side campaign experience, as a Senior Art Director who has successfully delivered global campaigns across multiple channels
- Design and ideation are your superpowers. You're able to visualise the brand and our product in campaigns
- You have experience leading a team of designers, with knowledge on how to inspire them
- Excellent design craft and copywriting skills, and a portfolio that shows experience with Campaign Creative
- You have an understanding that spans digital design, product design and Figma is key to this to help ensure sure that your vision is fully realised
- You have excellent verbal and visual communication skills, allowing you to communicate complex information simply and clearly
- You thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment that requires the ability to problem solve, drive chaos to clarity, and maintain personal resilience
- You’re an energy giver with a positive outlook. A natural empathetic teammate, with a consistent track record of cross-functional leadership and partnership
Responsibilities
- Help achieve Canva’s business targets and brand goals through big ideas and design direction for global campaigns
- Inspire the creative team, providing direction, mentorship and coaching, mobilizing them to execute exceptional creative
- Design creative solutions for Canva's campaigns, with strong collaboration with our product and motion teams to ensure we are representing our product in the best light in our campaigns
- Direct meaningful content including; animations, videos and graphic images for multiple media touch points
- Articulate creative decisions and connect strategy with decisions
- Collaborate with a team of designers, copywriters, motion designers, videographers, producers and other groups to bring campaigns to life
- Manage and work with multiple stakeholders across the organization
- Use insights and data to refine creative decisions to ensure our customer needs are always considered
- Conduct research, brainstorm, sketch, prototype, and collaborate to create ground-breaking work
- Develop a deep understanding of consumer targets’ mindsets, attitudes and behaviours to inform strong creative development
- Partner with our Executive Creative Director & Creative Directors to develop craft initiatives for the team, to help grow their skills
