Join Khan Academy's Assessments team as a Senior Assessment Content Creator to contribute to the development of innovative K-12 assessments. Leverage your expertise in high school ELA, state standards, and assessment development best practices to create and maintain high-quality assessment content. This role requires deep pedagogical expertise, 5+ years of high school ELA teaching experience, and experience in K-12 assessment development. Requirements

• Deep pedagogical expertise and expertise in state and national standards
• 5+ years classroom experience teaching high school ELA, particularly early high school
• Experience in K-12 assessment development, including blueprint creation and item development
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written), as well as an eye for detail
• Excellent time management skills
• Proven cross-cultural competency skills demonstrating self-awareness, awareness of other, and the ability to adopt inclusive perspectives, attitudes, and behaviors to drive inclusion and belonging throughout the organization
• A positive growth mindset that is curious and energized to innovate and create something new for our students
• A bias to action

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the creation of K-12 assessments, leveraging your subject matter expertise in the design of test blueprints and test items, and the maintenance of item banks
• Ensure alignment of items with state standards content and to item development best practices
• Act as an editorial expert by reviewing content, participating in the maintenance of existing content, and working with partners
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams - product, design, and engineering - in creating more complex, interactive assessments for our students
• Innovate with new activity types made possible by AI technologies
