You will oversee the company's tax function, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations. This role involves managing tax reporting, including the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions, and working closely with tax service providers. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in tax operations, preferably in a corporate tax department or public accounting firm (Big 4 audit firm)
- Must be a self-starter
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in tax software and financial systems
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Review of the company’s quarterly and annual tax provisions and related footnote disclosures under ASC 740 and SSAP 101
- Ensure adherence to all tax controls and any other protocols, including the preparation
- Ensure workpaper files are in an audit-ready state for potential future examinations
- Review of U.S. federal and state income tax return workpapers
- Review of quarterly and extension tax payments
- Review of sales and use tax returns and other non-income tax filings
- Communication with the company’s U.S. tax service providers regarding information/data requests
- Review of responses to a tax authority’s questions and requests
- Review of underlying conclusions and documentation for discrete projects
- Provide guidance to Senior Tax Analyst and Tax Analyst
Preferred Qualifications
- An MBA or a master’s in taxation
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CMA (Certified Management Accountant), or other relevant certifications
- Insurance tax experience and familiarity with tax issues for multinational financial institutions
