Summary

Join our team as a remote Auditor and contribute to improving organizations' bottom lines through medical auditing. This position requires at least 5 years of auditing experience in physician practices, preferably across multiple specialties. You will audit medical records, research regulatory guidelines, prepare audit reports, and maintain confidentiality. Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of auditing experience
  • CPCยฎ Certification
  • RHIT or CPMA TM โ€“ to be completed within a year of hire
  • Extensive knowledge of AMA, OIG, CMS and other national coding and compliance guidelines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to โ€œownโ€ an entire project
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven attitude
  • Ability to think critically and determine the best method for completing tasks
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, and internet)
  • Ability to multitask and keep a sense of urgency
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong time management, organization skills, and work ethic
  • Requires long periods of time sitting and using keyboard and mouse

Responsibilities

  • Audit medical records to validate clinical documentation to support evaluation and management services, ancillary services, procedures, and diagnoses
  • Research regulatory guidelines for supporting documentation
  • Prepare audit summary findings, provide detailed comments related to the audit findings and make recommendations
  • Maintain production and quality metrics of 95% or greater
  • Prepare oral and/or written reports of audit activity to Supervisor
  • Responsible and accountable for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information. Follow HIPAA security policies and procedures affecting your job, and report any suspected or actual violation or breach
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive auditing in multiple specialties with strong experience in behavioral health, OBGYN, and ophthalmology
