Senior Automation Engineer

Summary

Join 66degrees as a Senior Automation Engineer for a 10-month remote contract (with potential extension) to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of platforms, products, and services. Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to build and maintain robust test automation frameworks. This role demands passion for automation, proactive problem-solving, and innovation in QE best practices. Success requires results-orientation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. You will execute automated testing, assist in framework development, perform manual testing, collaborate on test strategies, and implement testing using tools like Selenium and Postman. The ideal candidate will also define automation guidelines, review code, identify test coverage, assist in root cause analysis, and manage code using Git.

Requirements

• Experience implementing automation frameworks for WEB, API, and mobile applications
• Proficiency in functional testing including writing and executing test cases
• Experience with UI automation frameworks and tools
• Knowledge of API testing for REST APIs and Protobuf services
• Experience in leading and mentoring QE engineers
• Hands-on experiences in database testing (SQL & MongoDB)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Gitlab is nice to have)
• Programming skills - Java
• Understanding of software test life cycle and defect management
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative environments

Responsibilities

• Execute automated testing solutions within CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable test case execution
• Assist in design, development and enhancement of automation framework
• Perform comprehensive manual testing to identify defects and validate features against business requirements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on test strategies and test plans
• Implement testing using tools such as Selenium for UI testing and Postman for API validation
• Defines and ensures guidelines are followed for automation code
• Review code changes and Merge requests to ensure quality standards are followed
• Ability to identify appropriate test coverage and edges cases
• Assist in root cause analysis for defects and provide insights for improvement
• Work with source control systems like Git to manage code repositories
• Document test results and communicate findings to stakeholders
• Stay current with emerging testing tools and methodologies
