Senior Back End Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer at Astronomer, focusing on the Developer Experience initiative of their data orchestration platform powered by Apache Airflow. Requirements

• Experience with Golang
• API experience
• A strong focus on delivering performant, scalable, and reliable backend systems
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• Experience communicating technical concepts through use of architectural diagrams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with fast-paced startup environments
• Experience with software development best practices, such as code reviews, testing, CI/CD, version control, automation and debugging

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development and vision of our onboarding experience and developer tools, such as Cloud IDE and Cloud CLI
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements, implement and iterate on the features used by our customers
• Continuously evaluate and improve the architecture and implementation of our platform
• Contribute to the overall platform usability, reliability, and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with SaaS platform
• Experience with Postgres or other relational databases
• Experience with the APIs for git providers
• Experience building developer tools such as IDEs or CLIs

Benefits

• The estimated salary for this role ranges from $175,000 - $200,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package
• This role is remote-first
