• Has 5+ years of experience in backend development with a proven track record of building scalable systems
• Possesses deep proficiency with SQL and has experience or a strong interest in learning Haskell
• Has experience working as a growth engineer or in a data-driven, product-oriented engineering environment
• Thrives in navigating ambiguous surface areas autonomously, approaching challenges with the intention of generating impactful, measurable outcomes
• Excels at weighing trade-offs and finding creative solutions to complex challenges
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with peers and cross functional counterparts

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend systems and features that embrace a scientific approach to growth engineering
• Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and data scientists to create scalable solutions, driving innovation through rapid testing, iterative learning, and data-driven experimentation
• Developing and optimizing systems to ensure the right Mercury features reach the right customers at the right time, driving adoption and product engagement
• Focusing on critical inflection points in the pre- and post-approval experience to streamline and improve the customer onboarding and activation experience
• Innovating and developing tooling that enable Mercury’s sales and relationship management teams to form deeper, strategic connections with our high-value customer base
