Senior Bioinformatics Scientist

Join Natera's Bioinformatics team as a Sr. Bioinformatics Scientist and contribute to cancer early detection research and development. Requirements

• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Cancer Biology or similar field
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in the Bioinformatics field
• Track-record of leading and developing state-of-the-art and highly impactful bioinformatics methods
• Deep understanding of sequencing data and multiple sequencing technologies
• Highly experienced in data analysis, statistical learning, and algorithm development
• Familiar with state of the art analytical techniques in cancer biology
• Familiar with databases such TCGA, COSMIC, or OncoKB
• Experience programming in Python
• Experience using Linux command-line tools and writing shell scripts
• Experience with AWS/cloud
• Ability to summarize results orally and in written form
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented

Responsibilities

• Innovate, design, develop, validate, and benchmark new algorithms and statistical methods to analyze large-scale data sets for cancer early detection
• Act as technical lead during various phases of the product development
• Work with our team of scientists to answer specific biological questions
• Present findings at top cancer and bioinformatics conferences
