Summary

Join Rush Street Interactive as a Senior Analytics Engineer and design, develop, and maintain data marts and tables for internal analytical and data science use cases. Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to build high-quality core data assets in our data warehouse. The ideal candidate possesses strong expertise in data warehousing, SQL, data architecture, and ETL processes, along with knowledge of BI tools. You will lead data model design, develop KPIs, work with various teams to ensure data accessibility, and automate data processing. This role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in BI development, analytics, or data engineering, preferably in the gaming industry
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, reporting, market research, segmentation, data modeling
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL. Able to query data from various data sources. Strong understanding of relational databases
  • 4+ years of experience in business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, SAS, R)
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and data manipulation
  • Proficiency in Python for data manipulation, automation, and workflow optimization
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Qlik)
  • Experience in automating repetitive processes using Python, dbt, or Apache Airflow
  • Experience using data warehousing tools (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
  • Familiarity with gaming metrics (DAU, MAU, ARPU, retention, churn, LTV)
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of data models to support users across RSI
  • Identify potential improvements to underlying data structures
  • Demonstrate ability to build production grade data models
  • Embrace data modeling best practices such as version control
  • Develop and maintain game performance, player behavior, and business health KPIs to drive decision-making
  • Work closely with operations, marketing, finance, and product teams to ensure data accessibility and usability
  • Develop scripts to automate data processing, reporting, and alerts for critical KPIs
  • Collaborate with data engineers to improve data pipelines, warehouse efficiency, and query performance
  • Partner with game developers, product managers, marketing, and finance to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Enforce best practices for data accuracy, consistency, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications

  • You have a passion for data, gaming, sports, and casino
  • You write advanced SQL with a preference for well-architected data models, optimized query performance, and clearly documented code
  • You’re familiar with the modern data stack. DBT and Snowflake experience are a big plus
  • A growth mindset and eagerness to learn
  • You exhibit great judgment and sharp business and product instincts that allow you to differentiate essential versus nice-to-have and to make good choices about trade-offs
  • You practice excellent communication skills, and you tailor explanations of technical concepts to a variety of audiences
