Senior Business Intelligence Manager

Summary

The job is for a Director of Business Intelligence in Raya, a technology company focused on providing utility through their membership-based community app. The role involves leading the Business Intelligence team, data analysis, A/B testing, trend identification, managing the team of Analysts, and technical responsibilities such as data transformation and visualization.

Requirements

• Ability to lead conversations with stakeholders to transform their goals into concrete metrics
• Proactive manager who maintains a high bar and can attract and retain a great team
• Good business instincts with an ability to prioritize their team’s work against the highest impact areas
• Mastery of SQL
• Basic understanding of Python and ability to manipulate data and create simple visualizations using pandas or other appropriate Python libraries
• Familiarity with data transformation tools (e.g. dbt)
• Detail orientation, and specifically an obsession with accuracy & correctness
• Natural curiosity for exploring data. When a loose thread emerges, you’re inclined to pull on it
• Clear, proactive communication
• Accountability and delivery. When you commit to something, you always deliver

Responsibilities

• Lead conversations with stakeholders to transform their goals into concrete metrics
• Manage the team of Analysts, including scoping out work, committing to timelines for the completion of analytics deliverables, coaching and developing the Analysts, and functioning as the hiring manager to define and execute any future hiring processes for the team
• Work hand in hand with Product, Design & Engineering groups during all phases of the Product lifecycle
• Identify and communicate all trends throughout the business
• Own transforming all data (once it enters Raya’s Snowflake data warehouse), as well as ultimately surfacing, visualizing and summarizing the data in our front-end reporting tools (Mixpanel & Mode)
