Summary

Join Protera as a Senior Cloud Engineer and manage, optimize, and automate our cloud infrastructure. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software integration. The ideal candidate possesses extensive AWS cloud services experience, proficiency in Terraform, Python scripting, and Ansible. This remote role (7 PM-3 AM IST) requires contributing to security and compliance initiatives. You will lead cloud migrations, leveraging AWS's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF). Requirements

  • Required experience on AWS 7 years, Minimum 5 years in Linux
  • Required active certification AWS Solutions Architect Professional
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions, including enterprise directories, on-premises hosting platforms (vSphere/Hyper-V), and datacenter storage and networking
  • Lead and take part in cloud readiness assessments, workshops, roadmap, and application modernization discussion
  • Strong experience with data center migrations to AWS, using cloud native tools such as cloud endure / migration hub
  • Experience with automation (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and Ansible
  • Advanced System Administration experience with Linux (SUSE, CentOS, RedHat)
  • Experience with core AWS platform architecture, including areas such as: Organizations, Account Design, VPC, Subnet, segmentation strategies

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to develop a deep understanding of their existing on-premises infrastructure, applications, and business requirements, and recommend the optimal migration strategy to AWS
  • Leverage AWS's Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) to provide best practices, guidance, and tools for cloud adoption and migration, ensuring alignment with customers' business and technical goals
  • Architect, design, and implement complex, large-scale migration solutions using core AWS infrastructure services such as Amazon EC2, AWS Lambda, Amazon VPC, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), and AWS Application Migration Service (AMS)
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for migration, including AWS Elastic Disaster Recovery, AWS Backup, AWS Application Migration Service and third-party tools
  • Utilize dependency mapping techniques and tools to identify and group interdependent workloads, applications, and services, enabling the creation of efficient migration move groups to AWS
  • Assess clients' workloads for cloud readiness and recommend application refactoring or modernization where necessary to improve performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency in the AWS cloud
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and migration roadmaps that outline the end-to-end migration process, including resource planning, timeline, and milestones
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and product owners, to ensure smooth migration and integration of workloads, applications, and data
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and support to clients during the migration process, ensuring a smooth and successful transition to AWS with minimal business disruption
  • Continuously stay up-to-date on emerging AWS technologies, best practices, and trends to provide effective and innovative solutions to our clients
  • Act as a subject matter expert within the company and engage in knowledge-sharing activities, presentations, and workshops
  • Able to lead workshops with customers and its key stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience is a plus in Managed Services for AWS
  • Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure solutions, including enterprise directories, on-premises hosting platforms (vSphere/Hyper-V), and datacenter storage and networking
  • Lead and take part in cloud readiness assessments, workshops, roadmap, and application modernization discussion
  • Strong experience with data center migrations to AWS, using cloud native tools such as cloud endure / migration hub
