Requirements
- Bachelorβs of Science in Computer Science or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Eight or more years of experience in platform engineering or developer experience tooling
- Five or more years of experience working with consumer facing websites and technologies
- Three or more years of experience working with distributed systems
- Experience and understanding of CI/CD processes and tooling such as GitLab, Github, or Jenkins
- Experience and understanding of Go, Python, or Bash languages
- Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi
- Experienced enabling and troubleshooting containerized workloads in ECS, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
- Experience working in GCP or AWS
- Enjoy working on infrastructure but engage in understanding your customer needs
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to contribute during code reviews, and capture tasks
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and great attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Design and develop the platform architecture, including infrastructure, networking, and software components
- Seek out and evaluate new technologies and make recommendations for their use as new platform features, capabilities and patterns, and improve system reliability
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure their applications are optimized for deployment in an IAC environment, and meet security and compliance needs
- Develop and maintain automation and deployment processes to enable and improve developer experience and efficiency
- Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the platform is performing at its best and identify areas for improvement
- Encourage developer autonomy and self-service by contributing to developer training and documentation for Platform products
- Promote a supportive culture focused on building reliable systems and processes based on established best practices in the industry
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the platform, including performance and scalability issues
- Implement security and compliance measures to ensure the platform meets regulatory requirements
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide support for internal developer services
