Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Summary

Join Scalable Capital's Network Engineering team in Munich or Berlin and contribute to the development and maintenance of their cloud infrastructure. You will be responsible for improving Scalable's cloud infrastructure and automation using AWS, Terraform, and Python or Go. Design, maintain, and operate multiple cloud networks on AWS, ensuring a secure and highly available infrastructure. Maintain financial middleware systems for high-availability connectivity. Support and guide engineering teams to strengthen the DevOps culture. This role requires multiple years of hands-on experience with core AWS services and proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and at least one general-purpose programming language. A passion for automation, security, and reliability is essential. A relevant degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Requirements

• Must have multiple years of hands-on experience with core AWS services, including: EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, Private Link, Route 53, CloudFront and ELB
• Proficient and experienced with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language like Python or Go
• A passion for automating and improving processes while keeping security and reliability in mind
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in an international English-speaking environment

Responsibilities

• Improve Scalable's cloud infrastructure and automation using tools such as AWS, Terraform, and, when needed, general-purpose languages like Python or Go
• Design, maintain, and operate multiple cloud networks on AWS, providing a secure and highly available infrastructure for our internal development teams
• Maintain financial middleware systems, ensuring high-availability connectivity for our most critical applications and partner integrations
• Support, guide and empower our engineering teams to further strengthen our DevOps culture

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing VPNs and/or Leased Lines, plus low level network debugging (tcpdump), and Cisco IOS XE (IPsec and GRE)
• A degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering, sciences) or work experience in a role that typically requires a university degree
