Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Summary

Join Scalable Capital's Network Engineering team in Munich or Berlin and contribute to the development and maintenance of their cloud infrastructure. You will leverage AWS, Terraform, and Python or Go to improve automation, design and operate cloud networks, maintain financial middleware systems, and support engineering teams. The role requires extensive experience with AWS services, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and a general-purpose programming language. A passion for automation, security, and reliability is essential. Requirements

• Must have multiple years of hands-on experience with core AWS services, including: EC2, VPC, Transit Gateway, Private Link, Route 53, CloudFront and ELB
• Proficient and experienced with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform
• Proficient in at least one general-purpose programming language like Python or Go
• A passion for automating and improving processes while keeping security and reliability in mind
• A degree in a relevant field of study (e.g. computer science, engineering, sciences) or work experience in a role that typically requires a university degree
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in an international English-speaking environment

Responsibilities

• Improve Scalable's cloud infrastructure and automation using tools such as AWS, Terraform, and, when needed, general-purpose languages like Python or Go
• Design, maintain, and operate multiple cloud networks on AWS, providing a secure and highly available infrastructure for our internal development teams
• Maintain financial middleware systems, ensuring high-availability connectivity for our most critical applications and partner integrations
• Support, guide and empower our engineering teams to further strengthen our DevOps culture

Preferred Qualifications

• Preferably experience with Network Firewall, WAF, Site-to-Site VPN, Client VPN, Direct Connect, ECS / Fargate, Lambda, API Gateway, and S3
• Experience in managing VPNs and/or Leased Lines, plus low level network debugging (tcpdump), and Cisco IOS XE (IPsec and GRE)
