Requirements
- Experienced with consumer mobile app design (1-2 years)
- User-Centric, constantly evaluating designs from the lens of a user first, and does what's needed to build empathy with those users
- Familiar with working at an early-stage, remote startup
- Able to lead design work proactively, constantly pushing the right design into the hands of users
- Working independently and prefer the fast pace and scrappy mindset, having launched 1-2 products or features from the ground up
- Data oriented. You use success metrics to evaluate design, rather than just qualitative feedback or opinions
- Holistic in your design thinking, considering user flows and experiences across all channels, including email/push/SMS and in-app
- Proficient in designing feature concepts using Figma and constructively iterating with teammates
- Able to lead and share insights from user research interviews
- Highly motivated, outcome driven, with a proven track record in product design and a desire to grow yourself within Optiwatt by pulling in work that excites you
Responsibilities
- Conduct both generative and evaluative research to understand our users and their feedback about upcoming or recent product changes
- Partner daily with product managers, engineering, and other teams to create and refine new user experiences
- Analyze user behavior using tools like Posthog to understand how designs are driving the desired outcomes for users
- Survey current and potential users on their needs to guide implementation of features, source new ideas, and evaluate product performance
- Work alongside a talented team of senior engineers who have expertise in consumer, energy, and smart device applications
- Partner with product managers to understand the business impact of experience changes shipped in recent releases
- Test creative outside-the-box ideas and iterate constantly to disrupt Optiwattβs status quo from within and unlock deeper product value in every corner of the application
- Interface directly with marketing to communicate features to the public as the voice of our user base, ensuring that our offerings are as intuitive as possible to interested parties
- Continuously improve through feedback, as an individual, team, and organization
