Join Version 1, a leading technology services company, as a Content Designer and contribute to creating user-friendly services for our public sector clients. You will collaborate with agile teams, including user researchers, service designers, and interaction designers, to improve user journeys and content quality. This contract role requires recent GDS experience and immediate availability. Leverage your expertise in agile methodologies, stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and user-centered design to deliver exceptional results. You will utilize your skills in prototyping and accessibility to create impactful content. Requirements
- Understand agile methodology and how to apply agile ways of working to designing content
- Make sure the team has awareness of each other’s work and how it relates to the objectives and user needs
- Work in a fast-paced environment, using iterative and flexible approaches to deliver outcomes rapidly
- Use platforms (eg JIRA) and tools (eg Heroku) to manage and communicate your work to others
- Identify important stakeholders, tailoring communication to their needs, and work with teams to build these relationships
- Represent the user to these groups and using evidence to build consensus to deliver the best outcome
- Understand strategies and policies, providing guidance to others on working to deliver the policy intent and the strategic vision
- Evaluate current strategies to ensure the policy, organisation and user requirements are being met and exceeded where possible
- Identify tasks that will provide insight into a problem
- Formulate hypotheses and make decisions based on user research findings and data
- Translate user stories into content that meets users’ needs and propose suitable designs
- Use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user insights into outcomes
- Make complex language and processes easy to understand, presenting the right information in a format that users need
- Write, edit and publish digital content
- Make content accessible to all
- Understand government accessibility requirements and can design content that works with common assistive technologies
- Bring user research findings into your design work and how to work collaboratively with researchers, designers and developers to visualise content in context
- Understand the value of using different prototyping techniques and how to select the best option for different audiences and outcomes
- Have recent GDS experience
- Be available to start in the next 2 weeks or very close to
Responsibilities
- Work with organisations to understand their goals, working with them to improve user journeys, content quality, and the service to deliver
- Work closely with other disciplines within agile delivery teams, in particular user researchers, service designers, and interaction designs, as well as influential stakeholders such as service owners and policy teams
