Join Cruise, a self-driving service designed for the cities we love. We're seeking a versatile and self-motivated Senior Counsel to join the Litigation & Investigations team.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited law school with at least 7+ years of relevant experience litigating claims or actions in the transportation and/or insurance defense industry
  • Extensive hands-on experience managing intensive eDiscovery projects
  • Active member of the California or Texas state bar in good standing; preference for Texas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, impeccable integrity and judgment, strong analytical skills, and a keen sense of humor
  • Skilled in fostering collaboration and building strong partnerships, with a customer-focused attitude
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to manage a large and complex workload
  • Strategic thinker with a verifiable history of communicating sound and practical advice to business clients
  • Ability to work autonomously, drive results, and set priorities

Responsibilities

  • Successfully resolve vehicle-focused claims, disputes, and litigation with creative and outside-the-box strategies
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the company’s data platforms for eDiscovery purposes
  • Provide legal support for the Incident Response program
  • Manage Cruise’s third party claims administrator in operating and refining a best-in-class claims process that focuses on doing the right thing and putting our customers first
  • Advise and collaborate with partners to continually improve internal procedures that feed into Cruise’s claims processes
  • Integrate deeply with business and engineering teams to develop a thorough understanding of Cruise’s AV technology
  • Update the Litigation team on new developments in case law, federal, state and local rules, and other statutory developments impacting discovery, ESI, etc
  • Participate actively in Litigation team management
