Summary

Join Ontra's growing Data team as a Senior Data Analyst, Emerging Products! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Analytics, you will partner with the Product team to develop key metrics, uncover opportunities, and build robust data foundations. This role requires 5+ years of experience in data analysis, advanced SQL skills, proficiency in BI tools, and experience with data pipelines. You will conduct detailed data analysis, own analytics in high-impact areas, drive analytical projects, and engage with stakeholders. Ontra offers a remote-first work policy, paid time off, parental leave, retirement contributions, and various other benefits. The base pay range is $141,700 - $198,400 USD, and all positions are eligible for unit-based equity grants. We are currently only hiring candidates based in the United States.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in roles involving data manipulation, exploratory data analysis, and delivering insights through data visualizations
  • Advanced fluency in SQL for constructing complex queries and high proficiency in industry BI tools, with experience or interest in Sigma
  • Intermediate scripting skills in Python or R for analysis
  • Experienced in using statistics to evaluate the performance of new features and product updates
  • Expert in defining, monitoring, and refining key product metrics, delivering detailed reports to guide strategic decisions
  • Proficient in building data pipelines in the semantic layer using DBT or similar tools, with experience in data modeling, including creating data pipelines for the dim layer
  • Skilled in tracking and analyzing operational KPIs, with experience in identifying workflow bottlenecks and recommending process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed data analysis to drive decision-making processes and provide actionable insights
  • Own data analytics in high-impact areas within teams, establish measurable success goals, provide insights, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment
  • Drive analytical projects and requests autonomously, ensuring that deliverables meet stakeholder expectations, get actioned on, and land the planned impact
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to understand their needs and communicate insights clearly
  • Collaborate with and provide guidance to other analysts, data engineers and data scientists, fostering growth and enhancing team capabilities
  • Explore new opportunities for cross-team collaboration, propose strategic initiatives, and understand departmental interrelationships for optimal impact
