Remote Senior Data Migration Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Data Migration Engineer who will oversee data migration from various sources to GCP, analyze existing data structures, design migration strategies, implement data migration processes, ensure data integrity and security, provide technical guidance, optimize data migration processes, and document procedures. Technical skills in GCP services, data migration tools, database technologies, scripting languages, problem-solving, communication, collaboration are required. Experience with Agile delivery teams is necessary. Preferred requirements include GCP experience, large-scale solutions experience, Data Engineering, Data modelling, DBT.

Requirements

• Strong technical skills in GCP services, data migration tools, database technologies, scripting languages
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration abilities
• Database experience with either RDBM or NOSQL
• Technical writing, experience in preparing and presenting technical material to a variety of audiences
• Experience in working in, and with, Agile delivery teams

Responsibilities

• Work closely with technical leads and client teams to fully demonstrate the benefits of GCP technology
• Oversee the migration of data from various sources to Google Cloud Platform
• Analyze existing data structures, design migration strategies, implement data migration processes, and ensure data integrity and security throughout the migration process

Preferred Qualifications

• GCP experience
• Experience working on Enterprise level Migration projects
• Experience in large-scale, secure, and high availability solutions in Cloud environment such as Google Cloud (GCP)
• Strong experience in Data Engineering, Data modelling, DBT
