Senior Database Engineer

Summary

You will be part of the Data Platform group, responsible for building and operating cloud database and microservices infrastructure. This role involves deploying and managing AWS services, monitoring database health and performance, collaborating with engineers and stakeholders, and conducting code reviews. Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field, with 5+ years of industry experience
• Extensive hands-on experience supporting relational database solutions—including PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MySQL—in large-scale production environments
• Experience with DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for deploying and managing resources in public cloud environments, preferably AWS
• Proven experience in application development, preferably with Python and/or Java
• Familiarity with cloud deployment concepts, including CI/CD, microservices (Kubernetes), networking, and security
• Solid understanding of data security, governance, and access control best practices
• Highly collaborative and team-oriented mindset
• Experience working in Agile engineering environments

Responsibilities

• Deploy cloud resources and configurations using DevOps tooling, preferably Terraform
• Deploy, configure and manage AWS services like RDS, Aurora, MSK, Redis, Firehose, redshift, Kinesis, etc
• Proactively monitor, tune, and optimize queries supporting multi-tenant SaaS applications
• Monitor production database health and performance, including participation in on-call rotation
• Collaborate with software engineers, system administrators, and business stakeholders to meet data requirements and integrate databases with other systems
• Conduct code reviews and perform governance/approval functions
