Requirements

• Experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails
• You write tests and understand their value
• A desire to learn and being open to feedback
• Understanding of design patterns and clean code
• Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers

Responsibilities

• Lead solution design for key initiatives related to product discovery and catalog search, ensuring performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability
• Partner with Frontend Engineers to architect scalable backend systems that support high-throughput experiences across the Fullscript platform
• Work closely with Search Algorithm teams to deliver a robust and seamless backend infrastructure that powers intelligent and reliable search functionality
• Drive continuous technical improvements by establishing and upholding engineering quality standards
• Provide thoughtful code reviews and mentor team members to elevate technical excellence across the team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling or working on high-scale web applications
• Past experience working in e-commerce or health-tech sector
• Experience with React, or similar technology
• Experience with ElasticSearch, or similar technologies
• You’ve worked with GraphQL in the past
