Senior Devops Engineer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior DevOps Engineer and lead the migration of application services and middleware from a legacy Kubernetes cluster to new clusters in AWS and on-prem environments. Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions, ensuring high availability, modularity, and maintainability. Own the full automation pipeline and build reusable, version-controlled infrastructure components. Work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment supporting multiple teams. You will be responsible for designing for failure, building in observability, and ensuring service continuity across distributed systems. This contract position offers work from home flexibility.

Requirements

• Have hands-on experience with: Rancher, Nginx, Prometheus, Grafana, Ansible, Docker, scripting languages (bash, Python, Groovy)
• Have a good understanding of network: DNS resolution, /etc/hosts, routing, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, VIPs, and CIDRs
• Have proven solid hands-on experience of 3+ years
• Thrive in a multicultural, fast-paced enterprise environment with distributed teams
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Explain technical decisions with clarity and ensure team-wide alignment
• Work independently, stay motivated, and own complex projects from start to finish
• Take initiative and proactively address problems before they escalate

Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of application services and middleware from a legacy Kubernetes cluster to new clusters in AWS and on-prem environments
• Design and implement Infrastructure as Code solutions, ensuring high availability, modularity, and maintainability
• Own the full automation pipeline and build reusable, version-controlled infrastructure components
• Design for failure, building in observability, and ensuring service continuity across distributed systems
• Write Terraform modules and work with Terraform workspaces
• Define and deploy Kubernetes workloads using Helm charts
• Work with Linux, Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitHub, GitHub Actions

Preferred Qualifications

Have some experience with databases, message brokers, cache, etc.: MySQL, Mongo DB, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, etcd, RabbitMQ, Redis
