Senior DevOps Engineer in Canada

Summary

The job is for a Senior DevOps Engineer at Wave who will improve the team's DevOps practices, mentor other engineers, and lead major initiatives. The role requires experience with cloud native infrastructure, IaC (Terraform), observability and alerting tools, container orchestration tools, and a passion for helping small businesses.

Requirements

• 4+ years of cloud native infrastructure work experience, ideally on AWS
• Deep understanding of software development and system design
• Extensive experience with IaC, preferably Terraform
• Experience with observability and alerting tools such as Datadog and PagerDuty
• A comfort working in new domains
• An understanding of container orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes, from an application developer’s point of view
• Have led multiple major projects and are excited to support others in doing the same

Responsibilities

• Go beyond the day-to-day needs of the team, leveraging your many years of experience to make more systematic improvements to the team’s DevOps practices
• Regularly and substantively improve the skills of other team members
