Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP)

Summary

The job is for a Senior DevOps Engineer to work remotely in Europe on client projects developing infrastructure for cloud-based applications, creating deployment architectures, continuous delivery pipelines, high-availability approaches, and implementing monitoring architecture. Essential skills required include proficient communication in English, experience delivering at an enterprise level and a remote agile environment, managing and automating complex platforms/applications on GCP, working with containers and container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure as code technology (Terraform), CI and building CD pipelines (Github actions), data storage experience with RDBMS and NoSQL technologies, understanding of observability practices across the stack, security assessments frameworks (Soc2) and security awareness throughout the stack, ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, exceptional communication and collaboration skills. Desirable skills include Google Cloud certifications, experience with Ansible, other cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure, experience working as a consultant.

Requirements

• Proficient communication in English (oral and written)
• Experience delivering at an enterprise level and a remote agile environment
• Experience managing and automating complex platforms/applications on GCP
• Experience working with containers and container orchestration, ideally including Kubernetes
• Experience with infrastructure as code technology, ideally with Terraform
• Experience with CI and building CD pipelines, ideally with Github actions
• Data storage experience with RDBMS and NoSQL technologies
• Solid understanding of observability practices across the stack
• Experience with security assessments frameworks (eg. Soc2) and security awareness throughout the stack
• Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize client's cloud-based applications/platforms
• Create deployment architectures
• Build continuous delivery pipelines
• Design high-availability approaches
• Implement monitoring architecture (dashboards, alerts, escalations)

Preferred Qualifications

• Posses any of the following Google Cloud certifications: Cloud Architect, Cloud DevOps Engineer, Data Engineer
• Experience with Ansible
• Experience with other cloud technologies such as AWS and/or Azure
• Experience working as a consultant
