Summary

Join Samsara as a Senior Director of Executive Recruiting to lead global executive hiring, driving talent initiatives and personally leading senior searches. Partner with C-level leaders to build leadership teams, lead a team of executive recruiters and sourcers, and deliver high-quality results. This remote US-based role requires developing executive recruiting strategies, forecasting leadership needs, and acting as a strategic advisor on talent. You will also ensure a positive candidate experience and build strong relationships with top-tier leadership talent. The position demands strong assessment and calibration skills, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to lead, coach, and scale a high-performing team. You will champion Samsara's cultural principles and build deep expertise in SaaS leadership markets.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in executive recruiting, including 5+ in leadership roles, mix of in-house and retained search firm experience highly preferred
  • Proven success hiring C-level and senior leaders in high-growth SaaS or tech environments
  • Track record of setting and maintaining a high bar for talent across functions
  • Experience managing and mentoring high-performing recruiting teams
  • Strong business acumen and executive presence; able to influence at the C-level
  • Highly analytical, process-oriented, and committed to DEI
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve Samsara’s executive recruiting (all Director, VP+roles) strategy across all functions and geographies
  • Partner with the C-suite to forecast leadership needs and design talent plans that enable long-term growth
  • Act as a strategic advisor on talent quality, succession, market dynamics, and org structure
  • Uphold and champion a consistently high bar for leadership across all executive hires
  • Personally spend up to 20% of their time directly leading senior level searches
  • Build strong pipelines and long-term relationships with top-tier leadership talent
  • Influence and guide executive stakeholders through high-quality, data-driven hiring decisions
  • Deliver a transparent, inclusive, and thoughtful candidate experience that reflects Samsara’s values and leadership culture
  • Ensure consistent and rigorous evaluation processes across every search
  • Lead, coach, and scale a team of executive recruiters and sourcers
  • Define and track performance metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, candidate quality, DEI progress)
  • Use data and insights to drive search efficiency, team effectiveness, and continuous improvement
  • Develop deep expertise in SaaS leadership markets and map top talent proactively
  • Maintain strong relationships with key candidates, search firms, and talent networks
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team
