Senior Director, Software Engineering

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in Enterprise Software development roles demonstrating progressive knowledge and growth in responsibilities
• Minimum of 5 years in development tools (including but not limited to: Java, Objective C, Swift, MySQL, Ruby, Python, Eclipse, Mobile)

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in strategic and product roadmap development, identifying gaps, hiring needs, and technical approach for delivery
• Identify talents and establish a pipeline of talent within and across the enterprise
• Identify and implement success metrics for team performance, predictability, scalability, performance, and quality
• Maintain current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self-education, attends ongoing educational programs)
• Provide strategic leadership of the software development function and guide the teams by utilizing expertise, techniques, tools, languages, and practices to coach and mentor
• Build a trust relationship with teams/organization to understand and proactively manage and mitigate project and technical obstacles and risks
• Build partnerships to gain strong alignment with architecture, operations, and product to support product development and delivery
• Advocate for and ensure the best technical solutions are implemented for the area of responsibility and influencing best practices across the PDD organization
• Ensure the overall code quality of the JAMF Software code base
• Ensure consistent and effective application of Lean principles and Agile development practices
• Lead, facilitate, and mentor managers and teams in solving the problems of building enterprise software
• Perform key people management responsibilities including hiring, onboarding, developing, and supervising team along with conducting performance appraisals and coaching for performance and career growth
• Mentor and develop team members by providing a clear understanding of career paths, establishing and defining team-level leadership and individual contributor structure, roles, and responsibilities to support departmental goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years previous management experience
• General experience with Mac OS X and iOS platforms
• Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.)
• Agile practitioner experienced in Scrum or Kanban
• Continuous Development/Continuous Integration experience
