Requirements

  • Possess a strong drive, be a self-starter with a sense of ownership, capable of working independently and also collaboratively
  • Have a track record of executing and delivering on large projects with high ambiguity
  • Have mentored junior engineers, led technical discussions, and contributed to the overall technical direction of the team
  • Possess the ability to strike a balance between rapid iterative development and high-quality code. Understand the tradeoffs and be capable of communicating risks to the project PM
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of leading technical discussions and persuading key stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Build robust, simple, and scalable APIs to power the frontend applications
  • Design efficient database schemas, implement data models, and optimize queries for performance
  • Implement strategies like horizontal scaling, load balancing, and distributed systems to handle increased traffic and data volumes
  • Build real-time features like live updates and notifications using technologies like WebSockets, Firebase, Supabase, etc
  • Implement security measures like authentication, authorization (role-based access control), encryption, and vulnerability scanning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have experience working with TypeScript, React, and/or Node.js
  • Have experience working with RESTful or GraphQL APIs
  • Have proficiency in CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment
