Summary

Join Pleo's Developer Experience team as a Senior Software Engineer and become a force multiplier, empowering other engineers. You will identify and implement systemic improvements, build developer tools and frameworks, and prioritize iterative development. The role requires expertise in cloud environments, server-side languages, testing frameworks, and DevOps. Requirements

  • Experience with cloud environments, distributed systems, and microservices (AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in server-side languages (Kotlin and TypeScript preferred)
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (Cypress, Mockk, JUnit, Testcontainers) and principles
  • Understanding of DevOps culture and tools (GitHub Actions, Gradle, Terraform)
  • Experience with observability and monitoring (Grafana)
  • Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL)
  • Ability to work in English
  • Experience solving complex technical challenges at scale
  • Commitment to ensuring a high bar for quality and reliability

Responsibilities

  • Enable other engineers to do even better by working as a force multiplier
  • Identify, build, and deliver systemic improvements across Pleo
  • Provide frameworks, libraries, developer tools, and guides to enhance the engineer experience
  • Build features incrementally, prioritizing early feedback and iterative development
  • Work in English
  • Solve complex technical challenges at scale
  • Ensure a high bar for quality and reliability within your team
  • Coach others to help them develop as engineers
  • Advocate for a more thorough code review process
  • Regularly give and receive feedback - both positive and constructive
  • Help design the overall solution, not just write code
  • Help your team solve challenging problems
  • Be a force multiplier within your team
  • Describe technical debt faced by your team and propose solutions

  • Experience coaching others
  • Experience advocating for a more thorough code review process
  • Experience giving and receiving regular feedback
  • Experience in designing overall solutions
  • Ability to be sought after for help in solving challenging problems
  • Ability to describe and propose solutions for technical debt
