Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 2 years in a management role
  • Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering teams, with a strong focus on career growth and impact
  • Startup experience is a must—comfortable in a fast-moving, high-ambiguity environment
  • Technical expertise in our stack:Frontend: React.js and React NativeBackend: Python (FastAPI)Cloud: AWS, Docker
  • High ownership and accountability, with a history of driving projects from ideation to execution
  • Deep understanding of engineering best practices, including performance optimization, scalability, and testing
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to align engineering with business goals
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and proactive in defining solutions and removing roadblocks
  • Excited about GenAI and Agentic AI, with a passion for leveraging AI to transform industries
  • Fluent in English (C1 minimum) for effective communication

Responsibilities

  • Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, initially managing 4 engineers, with plans to expand rapidly
  • Remain hands-on (~40%) in the short term, gradually transitioning to a fully managerial role as the team grows, where you will manage multiple pods
  • Own the execution of the app development, ensuring we build practical technology capabilities needed to realise our vision
  • Define and drive the engineering roadmap, balancing business needs, technical excellence, and speed
  • Replace the CTO during his planned eight-week leave, taking full responsibility for technical delivery
  • Work closely with the Head of Product to align engineering efforts with business objectives
  • Drive planning, resource allocations, trade-offs, and prioritisation discussions across business, product, and engineering
  • Participate in quarterly OKRs planning, working closely with peers and teams to remove impediments, articulate tradeoffs, and secure resources
  • Hire, mentor, and develop engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, ownership, and continuous learning
  • Inspire and coach engineers, providing tailored feedback to increase their impact
  • Champion a growth mindset, encouraging experimentation, learning from failures, and continuous improvement
  • Build a team that thrives in ambiguity, navigating the unknown and adapting quickly to new challenges
  • Ensure engineering best practices, including high-quality coding, testing, CI/CD, and scalable cloud infrastructure
  • Lead by example, setting a high bar for technical excellence, accountability, and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Gen AI technologies, RAG & ReAct Models, LangChain, LLMs
