Senior Engineer - Platform

Summary

Join Bitstamp's Platform Team as a Senior Engineer and contribute to building and operating core services and frameworks for applications. You will help grow the product offering by refactoring critical systems and enhancing scaling capabilities. The team is data-driven and goal-oriented, focused on delivering an ultimate trading experience for customers and a best-in-class developer experience. This role offers the chance to showcase skills, learn about fintech, trading, distributed architecture, and high-performance solutions. Bitstamp uses Python, Docker, Golang, MySQL, AWS, and Kafka. The position includes work-from-home flexibility and generous home-office allowances.

Requirements

• Strong engineering background and development experience
• Expert knowledge in either Golang and Python and at least some experience with the other, with motivation to learn both
• Experience or knowledge in designing scalable distributed web applications
• Experience with event driven architecture
• Solid knowledge of backend development, including databases

Responsibilities

• Research architectural and code problems in current solutions, design new solutions and plan for implementation
• Design and build new solutions in Golang and Python and continuously operate them in production
• Work daily to improve the stability and robustness of the platform and solutions; collect and analyze system metrics and act upon them
• Communicate with team members and technical stakeholders – infrastructure cloud engineers, security engineers and application developers
• Review code and solution of other team members and contribute to solution designs
