Requirements
- Masterβs degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in power markets, including roles such as Transmission Engineer at an ISO, utility, or similar organization, or as an analyst on a power trading desk
- FTR trading experience is an asset
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, or similar scientific programming languages
- Expertise in Power Flow and production cost modelling of North American power markets using tools like DAYZER, PowerWorld, PLEXOS, MATPOWER, Promod, or similar platforms
- In-depth knowledge of power market economics, including congestion pricing mechanisms
Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and continuously improve Power Flow models to support FTR and daily trading activities
- Analyze and process large datasets to model and forecast key fundamentals such as supply, demand, pricing, and grid congestion within the American power grid
- Predict congestion and pricing trends in power markets to inform trading decisions and strategies
- Maintain, execute, and continuously improve power flow models, ensuring their accuracy and relevance
- Share knowledge and contribute to training Junior Analysts
