Requirements
- Bachelorβs Degree in CE, CS, EE, or related technical field and 2 years of experience in validation of consumer products
- Experience with computer systems, components, and various OS (Windows, Linux, DOS)
- Strong programming knowledge & debugging skills in python, C or C++
- Hands on experience in PCIe and NVMe spec with SSD qualification and test development
- Hands on experience in analyzing PCIe protocol trace
- Hands on experience in sideband signal testing like SMBUS, PERST#, ClkReq#, PLP
- Hands on experience is Power characterization for NVMe SSDs based on different OEM requirements
- Strong analytical problem solving skills to troubleshoot variety of system-level issues down to system/device HW/SW
- Ability to multi-task, work efficiently in a group, as an individual, and in a team environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
Responsibilities
- Define and track test plans through product development cycles from EVT through customer qualification and MP
- Review NVMe SSD validation requirements from customer/architecture specs and influence future WD product design for debug and test
- Monitor regression and qualification test cycles, perform first level FA and triage of failures, prepare and present testing statistics, and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to drive issues through closure
- Characterize and Optimize SSDβs for Performance and Power across Platforms
- Research and implement innovative ways to test/validate NVMe SSDβs
- Lead bug review meetings
- Act as gatekeeper for product release to customer
- Maintain communication with technical marketing and applications engineering teams to ensure testplans satisfy product and customer specifications and mirror customer tests/qual procedures
- Scope test tools and customer hardware requirements, ensuring the lab has appropriate customer systems and debug tools
