Join AppOmni as a Senior Engineering Manager to lead and grow our Threat Platform team. You will oversee critical parts of our platform focused on SaaS security, enabling customers to identify, prioritize, and respond to threats in real time. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, shaping technical direction, and leading a high-performing engineering team skilled in Python and Go. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of features and enhancements for threat assessment, incident response, and detection customization. The ideal candidate possesses extensive software engineering experience, including a proven track record of managing complex projects in security or data-focused environments. Requirements
- 7+ years of overall Software Engineering experience, including 5+ years as a hands-on engineer
- 3+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a technical leadership role, guiding teams that deliver production-grade SaaS solutions
- Expertise with Python and Go, particularly in building high-volume data pipelines or threat detection systems
- Proven track record of managing complex projects with high-performance and high-availability requirements, ideally in security or data-focused environments
- Demonstrated ability to fail fast, learn faster, iterating quickly in agile or agile-esque settings
- Strong communication skills—verbal and written—suitable for a remote-first or distributed workforce
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical strategy for our Threat Detection and Response initiatives, aligning with AppOmni’s broader goals and product roadmap
- Champion best practices in SaaS security, threat detection, and high-volume data pipelines, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing engineering team, ensuring individuals have clear goals, regular feedback, and opportunities for professional development
- Foster a culture of transparency and shared ownership, where every team member feels supported and valued
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of features and enhancements for threat assessment, incident response, and detection customization
- Utilize agile methodologies (or similar) to optimize team workflows and accelerate time-to-market for customers
- Ensure timely pull request (PR) reviews, clear task definitions, and consistent communication of progress and blockers
- Advocate for a customer-first mindset, making data-driven decisions that address real-world SaaS security needs
- Partner with Product Management to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and refine detection and response capabilities based on market and customer insights
- Collaborate with peer teams (Security Research, Product, Data Science) to share insights, remove roadblocks, and align on overarching business goals
- Promote open communication and break down silos for a seamless, integrated approach to product delivery
- Establish and refine engineering processes to improve code quality, reliability, and performance—particularly for scalable, high-throughput data pipelines
- Advocate for continuous improvement, early issue detection, and rigorous testing, monitoring, and observability
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SaaS security, security operations, or detection engineering is a plus (though not mandatory)

- Base Salary: The annual base salary compensation range in the U.S. for this role is $200,000 - $225,000
