Join Degreed's expanding team as a Senior Enterprise Architect (EMEA) in the newly formed Enterprise Solutions organization. This pivotal role focuses on establishing a solution and value-oriented approach with key customers, building long-term roadmaps, and creating shared visions. As a senior technical strategist, you will ensure seamless integration of Degreed's skills-first learning platform into the complex HR-IT environments of global enterprise clients. Collaborate closely with customers to understand their tech ecosystems and define end-to-end architecture, working alongside various teams to embed skills-driven talent experiences into the enterprise digital fabric. You will also collaborate on technical engagements, ensuring delivery quality and leveraging Degreed technology for innovative solutions. This role demands deep technical expertise, a solution-oriented mindset, and strong communication skills to tackle complex challenges in a fast-paced environment. Requirements
- 12+ years in enterprise or solution-architecture roles in HR-tech
- 5+ years leading large Enterprise software deployments
- Strong experience with API-based integrations, data mapping, and middleware solutions
- Proven architecture leadership for major global talent, skills, or learning-platform transformations
- 5+ years of hands-on technical expertise with REST APIs, event buses (Kafka/SNS/SQS), OAuth 2.0/OIDC/SAML, webhooks, and bulk or streaming ETL tools (MuleSoft, Boomi, SnapLogic, Azure Data Factory) and integrations with data warehouses or BI tools
- Proficiency in building automation and middleware solutions; familiarity with languages like JavaScript or Python is a strong plus
- Security architecture covering encryption, IAM, SSO, RBAC, data-privacy, and auditing
- Stellar communication skills—capable of translating between executive, functional, and technical stakeholders; comfortable presenting to CXO and architecture review boards
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable managing third-party vendors and cross-functional teams in complex technical initiatives
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Responsibilities
- Architecture Strategy & Governance Define and evolve the reference architecture, integration patterns, and canonical data models spanning learning records, skill graphs, career frameworks, performance and succession data
- Maintain architecture decision records (ADRs), blueprints, and road-maps that balance short-term product velocity with long-term scalability and security
- Provide inputs to a Customer Architecture Review Board and participate in customer architecture governance forums
- Solution Design & Integration Design bi-directional integrations and event-driven workflows with HRIS (SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM), ITSM (ServiceNow), Learning & Talent suites (Cornerstone OnDemand, Docebo), talent intelligence (Eightfold, SeekOut), career-mobility/talent-marketplace (Gloat, Fuel50), recruiting (Greenhouse, iCIMS), performance (Culture Amp, Lattice), and identity providers (Okta, Azure AD)
- Lead data harmonization across skills ontologies, competency libraries, job architectures, learning records (xAPI/SCORM), and talent profiles
- Customer Engagement Serve as principal architect on strategic accounts—running discovery workshops, publishing solution-architecture documents, and presenting to C-suite and enterprise-architecture boards
- Provide technical oversight during multi-phase global roll-outs covering learning, skills taxonomies, talent marketplace, and performance modules
- AI & Analytics Enablement Architect ingestion pipelines and feature stores for AI/ML services that power skills inference, personalized recommendations, growth paths, and talent-mobility matching
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MBA or MS-IS)
- Certifications: TOGAF, AWS/GCP/Azure Architect, CISSP, Workday Integration Pro, SAP SuccessFactors Integration, ServiceNow CTA, Cornerstone Edge, GCP ML Engineer
- Experience embedding generative-AI/LLM services (skills inference, career-path recommendations) in regulated HR environments
- Familiarity with global data-residency (EU, APAC, GovCloud) and regional privacy regulations (LGPD, POPIA)
- Fluency in an additional major business language (e.g., German, French)
