Senior Front End Engineer in Costa Rica

Summary

The job is for a freelance Software Engineer with at least 5 years of experience, working remotely from Costa Rica. The role involves working on front-end projects using React, NextJS, CSS, and state management frameworks. Additional skills such as backend Node.js experience, React Native, mobile experience, accessibility, and ADA compliance are beneficial but not mandatory.

Requirements

• 5+ years as a Software Engineer with a passion for front-end and the user experience
• Strong Experience with React and NextJS (bonus) using TypeScript/JavaScript(ES6/7+
• Understanding of state management frameworks and workflows
• Expert in CSS: Styled Components, Grid, Flexbox, Animations, and Cross-browser compatibility
• A proponent of unit, integration, and performance testing
• Relate to our core values (see below)

Responsibilities

• Champion code quality, reusability, scalability, and security
• Collaborate with a team of engineers, architects, product managers, and designers to deliver elegant, resilient, and solid products
• Ownership over their code and remove any ambiguity during implementation by collaborating with their team
• Conduct design and code reviews
• Enjoy learning new processes, tools, and technologies
• Care about who you work with and how work is done. We hire carefully, and the entire team is allowed to take part in evaluating potential hires

Preferred Qualifications

• Bonus: Some backend Node.js experience
• Bonus: React Native and or mobile experience with iOS and Android
