Summary

Join Defense Unicorns as a Senior Front End Engineer to lead the development and implementation of user interfaces for the Department of Defense (DoD) to manage and deploy UDS in any mission environment. You will be responsible for implementing features and functionality to enhance the user experience, collaborating with UX/UI designers and product managers, developing and executing comprehensive tests, staying abreast of industry trends, and communicating and executing in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience with full-stack development teams, proficiency in programming languages like Python, JavaScript, or Java, experience with front-end technologies, familiarity with UI/UX design principles, experience with CI/CD environments, and strong communication and collaboration skills. Defense Unicorns offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range of $180,000 - $219,000 USD, comprehensive health benefits, a 401k retirement plan, company stock options, unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, and reimbursement for approved trainings and conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Continually implement features and functionality to enhance the user experience
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to architect and design an innovative Interface that meets the needs of our users
  • Develop and execute comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of the UDS Interface
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI development, and apply this knowledge to improve our products
  • Communicate and execute in an asynchronous, all remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience with full-stack development teams
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
  • Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, Svelte, etc.)
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles, tools, and systems such as Figma and Carbon Design System
  • Experience with CI/CD environments
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems, propose innovative solutions, and implement them effectively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
