Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer

Join Fandom's User Experience News & Ratings team as a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer with a frontend focus! Based in Poznań, Poland (remote work within Poland is possible), you will maintain and enhance websites like Metacritic, GameSpot, and TV Guide. Develop scalable web applications, focusing on frontend excellence with Vue.js (Nuxt) or similar frameworks. You'll participate in feature development, improve user experience, and optimize applications for high traffic. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and share your expertise. This role offers a significant impact on how millions experience entertainment online.

Requirements

• Strong experience in frontend development, building modern server-side rendered (SSR) applications with Vue.js (Nuxt) or similar frameworks like React (Next.js)
• Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and experience with at least one backend language (e.g., PHP, Java)
• A growth mindset with a passion for learning and adopting new technologies
• Strong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and web best practices
• Experience with RESTful APIs
• A commitment to well-structured, tested, and maintainable code
• Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate ideas effectively

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain some of the most recognized entertainment websites (Metacritic, GameSpot, TV Guide, and more)
• Develop scalable and high-performance web applications, focusing on frontend excellence while being open to backend work
• Participate in end-to-end feature development, from concept and design to deployment and optimization
• Improve user experience and site performance, ensuring our platforms meet modern web standards and best practices
• Optimize web applications to handle high-traffic demands while maintaining speed, reliability, and responsiveness
• Explore new technologies, contribute ideas, and run experiments to enhance our products and development processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, product managers, backend engineers) to create seamless experiences
• Share knowledge, mentor team members, and help shape development best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with highly-scaled web applications
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other cloud providers
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized development
• Knowledge of Node.js backend frameworks (e.g. Express, Fastify, etc.)
• Experience working with CDNs and caching strategies
