Senior Game Designer

Summary

Join Gearbox Entertainment Company as a Senior Game Designer and contribute to the development of richly imagined content for award-winning video games. You will work collaboratively with content teams, creating gear, characters, enemies, and game systems. As a senior member, you will assist leads and directors in building major content pieces, mentor junior team members, and maintain a positive team environment. This role requires a proven track record in AAA game design, familiarity with Unreal Engine, and a deep understanding of modern AAA action game production. You will own design content from initial pitch to final release and work effectively with other departments.

Requirements

• Industry veteran with 2+ AAA games shipped from beginning to end in a design role, or comparable experience
• Professional familiarity with Unreal Engine, preferably with shipped AAA experience on FPS or 3D action titles
• Deep understanding of modern AAA action games and production practices
• Unreal 4/5

Responsibilities

• Assisting project and departmental leadership with major pieces of design content
• Owning design content from pitch to ship
• Maintain a great track record of working with other departments to provide clear instructions and feedback, as well as maintain positive team morale
• Assisting with training and mentoring new hires
• Helping maintain department standards and being a positive influence on their team
