Join Version 1's Services Reliability Group as a Senior Infrastructure Architect, leveraging your extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructure solutions. You will play a key role in developing and implementing infrastructure architecture strategies, overseeing system management, and ensuring optimal performance and security. Lead infrastructure projects, mentor junior team members, and develop disaster recovery plans. Manage vendor relationships and create comprehensive documentation. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead and mentor a team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure architecture, with a focus on Linux, VMware, SAN, and Windows environments
- Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat) and Unix (Solaris)
- Experience of clustering solutions such as Linux Pacemaker & Oracle Solaris cluster
- Extensive experience with VMware vSphere and vCenter, SRM/Live Site Recovery
- Strong knowledge of SAN technologies (EMC, PURE, HPE, NetApp etc)
- Proficiency in design and implementation of backup technologies (NetBackup, Commvault, VEEAM etc)
- Expertise in Windows Server environments
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Strong communication skills - can describe complex technical concepts/issues with non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to quickly arbitrate, prioritise and filter change/deployment issues to identify solutions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership and team management experience
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Responsibilities
- Design and Architecture: Develop and implement infrastructure architecture strategies that align with business goals and objectives
- System Management: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux, VMware, SAN, and Windows systems
- Performance Optimization: Ensure optimal performance, availability, and security of infrastructure systems
- Project Management: Lead infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure systems and processes
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or similar would be beneficial
