Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience is valued)
• Possess over 12 years of professional experience in software engineering
• Have 8+ years of experience with Java as the primary programming language
• Have 4+ years leading hybrid engineering teams (inhouse and outsource)
• Have 5+ years of domain expertise in the payment industry, fintech, banking, or financial services, with a deep understanding of industry-specific requirements, compliance, and high-availability systems
• Demonstrate deep expertise in software architecture, microservices, and cloud-based solutions in AWS
• Possess expertise in Test-Driven Development (TDD) and behavior-driven testing methodologies, ensuring robust, maintainable code
• Have a deep understanding and practical application of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles, including SOLID design, Clean Architecture, and advanced software design patterns
• Show advanced proficiency in Web/API environments, including HTTP protocols, designing and consuming RESTful services, and creating efficient, secure, and high-performance APIs
• Demonstrate proficiency in database design and optimization (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL databases)
• Show familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Possess excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Have the ability to independently and proactively solve problems

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Architect, design, and implement secure, scalable payment solutions aligned with industry standards
• Act as a technical leader, participating in software design, code reviews, and architectural discussions
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and deliverables for complex projects
• Drive agile practices to ensure efficient project execution and timely delivery
• Mitigate technical risks to maintain system stability and resilience
• Contribute directly to the development of high-quality, high-performance software solutions
• Diagnose and resolve issues in production environments efficiently

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with NodeJs or Python
• Hold relevant certifications in cloud platforms, such as AWS
• Have an understanding of serverless architecture and event-driven systems
• Have experience with Kotlin, NodeJs, or Python
• Have familiarity with frameworks like Spring or Micronaut
• Have experience/knowledge with frontend technologies such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
