Senior Manager Backend Developer

As a Senior Manager of Backend Development, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of the company's evolving backend infrastructure, leveraging various AWS services to implement impactful, scalable solutions. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent experience
• 6+ years of related experience are required
• Expert industry knowledge with an understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, etc.), relative strengths and weaknesses, and knowledge of AWS services, security, best practices, and scalability
• Working knowledge and strong understanding of serverless deployment automation and CI/CD patterns (AWS Serverless Model, AWS Amplify and AWS Chalice) and serverless identity management, authentication, and authorization (AWS Cognito and Identity and Access Management)
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of Lambda computing environment and programming model (AWS Lambda)
• Proven ability to utilize various programming languages and technologies (e.g. EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, GraphQL, RDS, SQL, NoSQL, ECS, EKS, CloudFormation, Python, Java, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, React.JS , JavaScript, Node.JS )
• Excellent development skillset with a strong ability to work independently or collaboratively with team members and internal and external partners to ensure the on-time delivery of sustainable and stable solutions
• Highly skilled in serverless computing development and architecture, including event-driven architectures and asynchronous implementations, API and Microservices Design (API Gateway), and development abilities in creating highly scalable and flexible solutions
• Leadership skills with the ability to develop others, provide effective feedback, and foster teamwork
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build and nurture solid relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, as well as the ability to abstract complex business requirements and the necessary technical specifications to create a detailed design document
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with distributed computing infrastructure, adequate time and project management skills, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines or conflicting demands

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our backend applications and infrastructure using multiple AWS services
• Propose infrastructure and application improvement opportunities
• Ensure the timely resolution of production support request turnaround times within a ticketing system environment
• Define service capacity planning strategies
• Define and document best practices and strategies for application and backend development, deployment, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and CodePipelines
• Organize, manage, and report on delivery for projects to management
• Support the backend development team members and contribute to their professional growth and development
• Provide AWS backend development, as needed
