Responsibilities

• Manage the team members and projects of the data engineering team and ensure delivery in a timely manner while meeting the requirements set forth by the business
• Uses expertise in multiple areas to interpret internal and external business issues and recommend solutions based on best practices
• Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
• Manage a team of data engineers
• Facilitates communication upward and across project team including project status and technical information
• Ensures projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented
• Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews of data engineers
• Implement product features and refine specifications with our Data scientists, Data Analysts and Data Architects
• Resolve operational issues by collaborating with upstream support groups and other engineering teams
• Ensures projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented
• Leads a unit toward common goals and objectives
• Works with subordinates to develop projects, goals and objectives, mentors through task execution
• Provides direct supervision to individual contributors
• Decisions impact attainment of short-term goals
• Sees multiple outcomes and determines appropriate course of action
