Responsibilities
- Manage the team members and projects of the data engineering team and ensure delivery in a timely manner while meeting the requirements set forth by the business
- Uses expertise in multiple areas to interpret internal and external business issues and recommend solutions based on best practices
- Solves complex problems and takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
- Manage a team of data engineers
- Facilitates communication upward and across project team including project status and technical information
- Ensures projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented
- Responsible for hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews of data engineers
- Implement product features and refine specifications with our Data scientists, Data Analysts and Data Architects
- Resolve operational issues by collaborating with upstream support groups and other engineering teams
- Ensures projects are completed according to product specifications and are properly documented
- Leads a unit toward common goals and objectives
- Works with subordinates to develop projects, goals and objectives, mentors through task execution
- Provides direct supervision to individual contributors
- Decisions impact attainment of short-term goals
- Sees multiple outcomes and determines appropriate course of action
- Failure to achieve results will cause critical delays

- Performance and efficiency of the code delivery by the entire team, including stories completed , story points delivered and assigned goals during goal setting
