Remote Senior Manager of Software Engineering

Summary

The Senior Manager of Software Engineering at One Model will oversee multiple engineering teams, provide strategic direction, and foster innovation while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a degree in Computer Science or related field, proven experience in software development with significant leadership exposure, and understanding of Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience in software development with significant leadership exposure
• Comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle

Responsibilities

• Provide overarching direction to multiple software engineering teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and timely delivery
• Establish and track the health of the teams, ensuring deliverables are met, and performance standards are maintained
• Mentor Team Leads and champion the growth and success of Team Leads and the broader technical community
• Take ownership of software engineering processes across the company and drive continuous improvement
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Agile methodologies, software development lifecycle, and modern software practices
• Bridge communication between executive leadership and software engineering teams, facilitating clear and effective information flow
• Oversee the hiring processes and team resource allocation, foster a culture of collaboration, and resolve team challenges
• Provide Team Leads with the necessary tools and support to excel, and advocate for initiatives promoting knowledge sharing and skill improvement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a start-up environment that has scaled up is preferred
• Exceptional communication, organisational, and leadership skills
