Senior Manager, Security Engineering

Requirements

• 8+ years experience in security engineering and people management
• Extensive Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire high-performing security engineering teams in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of security architectures, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and modern development practices
• Risk Management: Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, including experience with threat modeling and incident response planning
• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST
• Collaboration Skills: Strong ability to work cross-functionally, effectively communicate complex technical concepts, and align security objectives with business goals
• Proactive Problem-Solving: A track record of implementing innovative security solutions and staying ahead of evolving threats
• Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience); relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the Security Engineering and Operations team, providing mentorship, direction, and fostering a collaborative environment to drive performance and growth
• Design and implement robust security architectures, secure software development lifecycle processes, and tools to protect Life360’s systems, applications, and data
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and IT, to integrate security best practices into development lifecycles and operational workflows
• Develop and execute security strategies and roadmaps aligned with business goals and evolving threats
• Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities, conduct risk assessments, and manage incident response plans to address security events
