Requirements

  • 8+ years in Software development, including 5+ years with AWS or GCP (Solutions Architect/Cloud Leader certifications preferred)
  • 3+ years in Cloud architecture
  • 6+ years in one or more database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, Aurora RDS, SQL Server
  • 2+ years in Engineering management (team leadership, performance reviews)
  • Expertise in microservices, serverless, and containerization (Docker/K8s)
  • Some DevOps & monitoring tools background (CI/CD, monitoring, DataDog)

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and optimize scalable cloud-native applications on AWS (Lambda, EC2, RDS, Cloud Functions, Queues)
  • Lead backend development using Linux shell scripting, PHP, Laravel, python, and modern APIs (REST)
  • Lead frontend development using React, NodeJS
  • Drive DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, code scans, Kubernetes)
  • Ensure system reliability, security, and cost optimization in cloud environments
  • Some hands-on coding (about 15-20% of the time) to guide best practices
  • Manage and mentor a team of team leads and/or engineers (backend, frontend, DevOps, QA)
  • Collaborate with Product Management to align technical execution with business goals
  • Mentor engineers on AWS best practices, secure coding (OWASP), and cost-aware development
  • Collaborate with security teams to achieve SOC and PCI compliance
  • Optimize Agile/Scrum processes and foster a culture of innovation
  • Own delivery timelines, resource allocation, and technical roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi-cloud strategies (AWS + GCP)
  • PHP/Laravel programming
  • Some knowledge in Python or shell scripting
  • Knowledge of one or more industry leading frontend stacks (React/Angular) for full-stack context
  • Experience with large-scale applications, implementing scalability
  • Some background in legacy system refactoring
